Shindig in Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre 2017
On Sunday, March 12th 2017, Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre will again be the venue for the Annual Céili
and Set Dancing Session known as the ‘Shindig in the Centre'. This popular family day out gets the
St Patrick's Day celebrations in the Boyne Valley off to an energetic and fun start.
The festivities start with a special menu in the Tea Rooms where locals and visitors alike can enjoy traditional Irish food.
At 2.00 pm the dancing will begin under the watchful eye and guidance of Shay White of Donore,
who will be Fear an Tí for the afternoon. Shay encourages one and all to get up and dance
and talks everyone through the steps. So if you have forgotten your Siege of Ennis from
your Walls of Limerick, Shay will be happy to tell you where to go next!
As in previous years, St Patrick himself is taking a short break from his busy schedule
to come to Brú na Bóinne where he will have small reminders of his struggle to rid
Ireland of snakes to distribute to the children.
The Shindig finishes up at 4.00pm. All are welcome and admission is free.
