The school promotes interest in the narratives, rituals and history embedded in the Sligo landscape. Enthusiastic speakers will elaborate on the local and ancient narrative each morning and on selected sites each afternoon.

The school will run for two days: 10.00 AM to 4.30 PM each day
on the 14th and 15th of September 2010.

Main sites are: Day 1: Carrowmore's panoramic landscape.

Day 2: Lough Gill, Holy Well and Carn's Hill.

This tri-spiral motif is carved on a stone inside the chamber at Newgrange. The carefully worked, flowing lines show a high level of skill and planning by the builders. Although its original meaning is unknown, the tri-spiral remains one of the most recognisable and striking carvings at Newgrange, offering a direct connection to the people who created and used the monument.
